ABSTRACT Chronic diseases and preexisting conditions shape daily life for many archaeologists both in out of the field. issues, however, can be overlooked safety planning, which more often focuses on emergency situations because they are considered mundane, or imperceptible to project directors crews until a serious problem arises. This article asthma, diabetes, depression as common medical that impact otherwise healthy during fieldwork, with goal raising awareness these particular, need attentive chronic general. Archaeological fieldwork presents novel put those at risk: environmental hazards, remoteness from social resources networks, lack group awareness, varying cultural norms. As result, if not attended properly field, lead life-threatening situations. Managing risk presented by requires culture where team members aware appropriate, collaborate mitigate them fieldwork.
